The List
A Checkpoint is 1 specific item/location - there are 420 checkpoints on The List. Each checkpoint on the list has a point value. The goal is to get the most points. You will not finish The List - there are too many checkpoints and not enough time. This is where strategy will come into play. Do you quickly get the easy 1 pointers or take time and travel to the high value checkpoints? You must tally up your score before turning in your Top-Secret Envelope. Write your total score on the Team Info Page and the Score Page. There will be a point penalty for inaccurate addition. Important: Take a photo of each page of your completed and scored list before dropping off.
Gameplay
Now-3pm
Start strategizing. Your goal is to find the checkpoint, take a qualifying picture, then check it off The List. A qualifying photo must include:
· Both searchers' faces (Kid Assistants are not required in pictures, but you can include them if you want)
· Gamecard (plastic team ID number)
· Proof of checkpoint in the photo
For example, if a checkpoint on the list is Highland Park - taking a picture in front of a tree will not be enough. Find a sign, trail marker, or anything that will show picture proof that you were at the exact location. Find something significant and unique to that checkpoint to take your picture in front of. All 3 requirements listed above prove your team found the checkpoint today. You only need one picture per checkpoint. You can use the same object for multiple photos. For example, a blue slide can be used for a “blue slide” and also “something blue” - you just need two pictures. Make sure all photos are clear and not blurry. Just make sure you get a good shot. No hand drawn checkpoints on paper, photo edits/alterations or image searching on your phone. For example, you can't Google a picture of orange juice and take a picture with your Googled image. I have the power to deny any photo. Remember you must prove you found the item or were at the checkpoint location. Do get creative. If a checkpoint reads “purple nails” I would count purple painted nails holding a playhouse together as well as purple fingernails. Again, I will be grading these and will make the final decision.
Drop Offs: 3pm Deadline
The 3:00 drop-off deadline is approaching. Head to either of the drop-off locations listed below and hand your Top Secret Envelope to a Moneyman agent.
Luray Ave.
Roxbury Park
You must drop off your entire Top-Secret Envelope with the following items included:
Team Info Page (that's attached to The List)
Score Page (also attached to The List)
Gamecard (plastic team ID number)
Your self-scored 11-page List (Remember to write your total score on the Team Info Page and Score Page)
There should be 13 physical pages stapled together
Failure to include any of these items will result in disqualification. The entire Top-Secret Envelope must be dropped off by 3:00 pm today. An agent will be at the location wearing an official Moneyman shirt from 2-3:30pm. A good strategy is to get there early, so you have time to tally your list. Last event, teams ran out of time while adding up their own sheets. Once your team tallies up your score and takes photos of your list, simply hand over your Top-Secret Envelope to a Moneyman agent.
Your team will be penalized for a late drop off. Being even one second late is not a winning strategy. Ruined or wet Top-Secret Envelopes will be penalized or disqualified.
Regardless of your score or late penalty assessed, turn your envelope in for a chance at the wildcard...
Very Important
You must score your own List. Make sure you set aside time before drop-offs to accurately add up your score. A winning strategy is to get to the drop off location sooner rather than later. Before you pack up your Top-Secret Envelope, take a picture of your completed and self-scored List. The entire list. All 13 pages. You can double check your social media album with your list.
Posting pictures
You will need to post your pictures to Facebook or Instagram. My agents will find your pictures for validation. There are requirements to use Instagram. Facebook users - you are good to go. To encourage the use of Facebook, extra bonus points are available to earn. Do not delete your photos from your phones native app after posting.
Facebook option (recommended)
You will need to post your pictures in an album on Facebook to be audited by my agents. You must post them by the deadline of 5pm. The game ends at 3pm so you will have a window of time to complete posting.
To post pics, make sure your Facebook page is not set to private. Create an album titled Moneyman 2026. Tag Moneyman. Post all pictures. This is a strict 5pm deadline. You may need to post 2 albums if you check off over 80 checkpoints. There is a Facebook only bonus that you will find on the list. This bonus is valued higher than Instagram’s bonus.
Facebook Directions:
After the drop-offs, upload the camera images to Facebook
Make sure your photos are oriented correctly (not mirrored) for the “Mirror Bonus”
Make sure to caption each photo with the Checkpoint number from the List
If you can’t find where to caption, put the checkpoint number in the comments of each picture
Instagram story option (not recommended)
There are 2 requirements for using the Instagram story option:
You must be friends with Moneymanmf
You must use an active account with a follower count of over 250
Make sure your page is set to public.
There is an Instagram only bonus on the Score Page
Instagram Directions:
Post all pictures to your story - make sure to include the Checkpoint number from the list with the text tool - This is a strict 5pm deadline
You must tap each photo before posting on your story and type the checkpoint number on the pic
Tag moneymanmf on at least one of your stories
Make sure each photo is oriented correctly for the “Mirror Bonus”
Mirror Bonus
(New for 2026)
There is 1 requirement to earn even more points with the Mirror Bonus - your photos must be oriented properly before posting - this could help your team with higher wild-card chances
this means that the “AmeriServ” logo must be facing the correct direction
Finals: Approximately 7pm
My agents will work fast to compare your List to your Facebook album or Instagram story. The 5 highest scoring teams along with 2 wildcard teams will make it to the finals. The Super Seven. Wait for a call. You'll meet up and be handed clues to the cash. The first team to unlock the cash keeps the $10,000.
Wildcard
7 teams will make the finals. The 5 top scoring teams along with 2 wildcard teams will be invited. The wildcards will be chosen at random out of those who successfully dropped off their envelope and correctly posted their pictures to Facebook or Instagram. Everyone has a chance to be the wildcard team. The higher scoring teams will have higher odds of being chosen. This means... don't give up. Keep marking off those checkpoints and increasing your odds of making the finals as the wildcard. Make sure you finish the game by dropping off your envelope and posting to Facebook or Instagram Stories. Good luck!
Waivers and agreements
Names on the signed waivers and agreements will be the official players. Those signed names must match your identity at the end of the day. Finalists will be required to have proof of identification. Proof of age of assistants (12 and under) will be required for finals. Prize and finals appearance will be forfeited by any team with inaccurately documented waivers and agreements - these were digitally signed during your checkout process on Eventbrite
Moneyman Spies
My spies will be all around town taking pictures, answering questions, but mainly enforcing rules. Some will be in official Moneyman shirts. Others will be in street clothes. The smartest team will win - not necessarily the fastest. Take the time to strategize. You must obey all traffic laws. Do not speed or park illegally. If my spies catch any speeders or bad park jobs, I'll be notified, and you will be docked points or disqualified. Safety is the #1 priority.
Team Uniforms and Costume Contest
Simply wearing a uniform will earn you 250 points. Make sure you find this on the score sheet and mark it off. Again, the costumes do not need to be elaborate to earn these points. Masks, heavy face paint, or anything covering your face as part of your costume are not allowed. My favorite costumes will be posted to social media for a fan vote. Winning team will earn a $300 prize.
My Final Word
My crew spent countless days and long nights putting this together with the main goal of giving Johnstown something cool that no other city has. A lot of businesses and organizations contributed to this huge effort. Give them a thank you!
This game was designed for fun but also has strict rules to ensure a true winner. I believe in fairness over everything.
Thanks for playing. I really love this game. A lot of brain power went into this. If you’ve read this far… take a picture holding up 1 finger over your mouth shh-ing the competition for a sneaky bonus checkpoint worth 100 points. Caption this with a zero and count it in the score sheet bonus section.
