my quick story

I’m Luke Rozich, a 2012 Richland and UPJ graduate with certifications in Early Childhood and Special Education. After a few odd jobs, I ended up in a life skills classroom where I found a passion for helping kids. I come to education with a super positive attitude and rely on my patience, confidence, and unique background. I am an outside-the-box thinker and see the world differently… I also started these projects around the same time!

teaching mindset

My teaching mindset is simple: keep students engaged, make learning meaningful, and meet them where they are. I believe all students can learn when lessons are clear, hands-on, and connected to real life. I focus on building confidence, keeping things positive, and creating an environment where every student feels included and willing to try.

My favorite lessons

After reading Fahrenheit 451,I tasked my middle school learning support class to create a magazine collage with the focus on symbolism. This class gave maximum effort and really grasped the tricky concept.

My Kindergarten class made Laser Blaster wristbands after a coloring-by-number sheet that I made on Canva. The students always turned their holiday color-by-number papers into laser blasters so I made them a real one!

During my learning support placement, the middle schoolers complained about worksheets, so I made a semester’s worth of lessons 100% hands-on. For example, during one lesson, our class created descriptive stories based on different settings including the popular Beaverdale hillclimb. The hillclimb was a topic of daily discussions which made this an extremely engaging lesson.

My UPJ classmates and I gave a lesson to Forest Hills High School students for their wellness day. We presented on “Sunday Scaries”.
